To Layla on her 5th Birthday

My dearest little diva,

This Friday you turned five and I watched my little early bird baby get ready for her party in true take charge fashion. I am proud of you. You are loyal, outgoing, thoughtful, and full of questions. You make friends with everyone and want everyone to be able to play together. You'll be a leader some day, I can tell.

You are also strong willed, stubborn and the loudest person I have ever met. Ever. No really, ever! Music, drums, singing, laughing, talking... You even sleep loud.

You love Disneyland, playing outside, dirt, running, driving up and down hills, swings, being the momma, helping to cook, the Giants, chocolate, chicken, cosleeping, Rapunzel, having long hair, and bossing people about.

You dislike new vegetables, people who boss you about without saying please, bad smells, the idea of a haircut or weird hairstyles, scary movies, heights, and when your little sister gets to pick first.

You are a graceful sort of beautiful. You balance, tumble, and twirl, your long hair dances in the wind with dancing big eyes and a bright smile.

Your so smart. Your already a math wiz, adding and subtracting since you were four. Now your working on writing and you love to be read to. You like to use big words and you love science facts. You remember everything. Your also witty and funny. You ask too many questions and you drive us crazy but you also know so much I can see that all those questions are adding up.

I look at your little personality, natural beauty and quick wit and I know I've met my match.

So, because this day is all about you I asked you a few questions about your favorite things to end this post..

Color- purple
Food- ranch dip
TV Show- word girl
Movie- tangled
Game- checkers
Person- rapunzel
Toy- baby alive
Animal- puppy

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to pick my very own chores, be the mommy boss, and be an animal doctor at the zoo.

You're an excellent big sister, a wonderful daughter, and an amazing friend.

Happy birthday, bug!

Love,

Mommy

Hot August Nights...and days

So August, otherwise known as the start of our busy season went a little something like this...

Cousins came from out of state and we picked them up at the airport and went to the train museum with Papa Mark and ShuShu...

Then we had a playdate BBQ at the place they were staying in Hilmar and a few days later the boys spent the day playing at our house...

Cousins are fun... Layla was bummed when they left.

But she danced her way out of it...

Then we had several trips to Nannie's where I do homework while mom watches the girls and then I make dinner and we all eat together...

And one time we had fake thanksgiving and Teri and Papa Glen came...

We had a lot of play adventures around Turlock...

We got a new baby girl cousin...

We went to Mia's birthday...

We had a birthday dinner for Daddy...

We went to a birthday party for Cousin Kylie...

Nannie got a new dog...

Teri made the girls twirly clothes...

And we closed out the month with a family visit at PopPops...

And if you think that's busy, you should see all the stuff I left out ... Haha

And September is no joke either.
