My Christmas Wishlist

I would like the Supernatural Deluxe Charm Bracelet made by Laughing Vixen and available on Etsy.
I would like two of the sets of silver finger print charms sold by smudgeprint on Etsy. This is probably my most desired item this year.
I keep putting a True Jelly Roll Pan like this one from Target on my Christmas list every year.
I want more Sinful Perfume from Anchor Blue.
I still need the first 4 Mercy Thompson Books by Patricia Briggs in hardcover.
I think I'd look charming in an XL Cupcake T-Shirt by Bakerella.
I would like Old Navy gift certificates because I could honestly use more clothing that fits.

The Places We'll Go - Autumn Edition

The weather this August in California has been mild. Very mild. So mild that the last two times I have taken the girls to the park in the morning (we do that sometimes on the weekend so Daddy can sleep in) I've had to leave early and drive them around in the car with the heater on to get them all warm and toasty again.
So with the end of summer slowly trickling off behind us and my return to work hitting us hard last week I am totally glad that I once made that list of things to try and do over the summer and that we managed to check off most of them... so that got me thinking...

We go to the park. We go to Nannie's. We go to the grocery store. We go to the library. I go to work. Jon goes to get the mail. Every day we go somewhere... but it was really nice to have some ideas on hand of places to go on the weekends or on our days off when the free time was blankly there staring at us in the face.
So where will we be going this Autumn?
Well the first three things on the Autumn list are three things left over on the Summer list that we never got to (it wasn't bad really we did all of them but 4- one was a summer only activity) and then I thought up some new fun adventures we might try.
  • Go to the SF or Fresno Zoo
  • Paint Pottery at Color Me Mine in Modesto
  • Visit the Stockton Discovery Museum
  • Go to the Corn Maze & Pick out Pumpkins for Halloween
  • Picnic at Donnely Park & Feed the ducks before they are gone for winter
  • Go visit Pa at the Ranch and let Layla ride a real horse
  • Attend a Renaissance Faire with my husband and kids *this item has been removed frmo the list due to scheduling issues-until next year*
  • Go to the Newman Fall Festival (Labor Day Weekend)
  • Take the kids into the mountains to hike around in big trees
  • Have Layla help Mommy make bake bread on an Autumn Day
  • Gather a leaf collection and press them in a journal
  • Go apple picking & make a Pajama Party Apple Pie or caramel apples
  • Pick Halloween Costumes, attend a carnival and go trick or treating
  • Watch all our favorite Halloween movies with the girls & eat caramel popcorn

So that's a sample of 14 things you might catch us at this Autumn. Of course things tend to get added and subtracted from the list but it's good to have some ideas up your sleeve. I don't know how many we'll actually get done. September is a SUPER busy month for us every year...but darn it...we're gonna try.

I can smell the apple cinnamon candles and feel my warm fuzzy blanket on a rainy day already.

A Summer Evening

This summer I made a list of things I wanted to do with Layla since I would be home on maternity leave after having Anyah and it seemed like a good summer to make some milestones. Last night we took another item off the list (we changed it a little) the original read "Eat Smores and play in the sprinkler until the sun goes down" but last night we had BBQ and then Layla played in her kiddie pool for the first time this summer and at bedtime I made her a Smore.

Her first Smore was a big success although eventually she had Nannie disassemble it so that she could just eat the chocolate parts.

But that first bite was both "yummy" and "delicious" (or at least that's what I was told)

She probably didn't want the whole thing since she had hotdogs, corn on the cob, cheese and apple juice for dinner. (I still can't get her to eat watermelon)

Her toes are still painted from when we took that off the list last week...we did some touch up painting yesterday though. She was so excited about putting water in the pool she got in with her sandals on.

But, there is no doubt she loved the pool again this summer and now I will be spending a lot of time getting burnt in the back patio.... good times.

Every Day A Lil More Hippie

So I've become obsessed with spending time on Etsy looking at wonderful handmade and vintage things that I would love to own. The thing I've learned from all my browsing is that I would really love to own something that might cost a little bit more but that will benefit someone who is doing an art they love.

I know... I'm becoming such a hippie.

Here are some things I've fallen in love with recently...

The Granny Hobo Bag in Brown and Cream Fillagrees on Pale Turqouise by Ally Bu

Cherry Heart Stoneware Pottery Pendant by Red Crow Arts

Organic Baby Wrap in Olive and Blue by LoveyDuds

Silver Random Wire Stud Earrings by Twisted Designs

Silver Bar Name Stamp Pendants by Artofsilver

Stargazing Print by Julie Fain

Deluxe Supernatural Mary Winchester Protection Charm Bracelet by Laughing Vixen Lounge

oh there are so many more...but these will get you started on some awesome shopping adventures...

Even Bean has a Wishlist

So a few select people have expressed interest in my baby registery for Bean. Being as we don't know a gender there are no clothing items on the registery that I made. If we have a girl we don't need any and if we have a boy then people can jump on that bandwagon with whatever they want. But there were a few other things we'll need either way. It's a short list. I'm going to link it up here in case anyone wants to go take a look.

This time we're going to give breast feeding a go again. The breast pump I had been borrowing when Layla was born got passed to another family member who (to the best of my knowledge) still uses it...so I have no idea what I need in that department but I registered for a pump and bottles to get me started.

If you see anything that looks like it's missing, fill free to pipe up in the comments, making a registry is harder than it looks. For instance I can't find the diaper bag I want...or a diaper bag I would want anywhere.

Luckily, we have almost everything we had when we had Layla. So there is always that small blessing.

The 5 Days Countdown

My birthday is this Saturday. I'll be 30. I thought I'd really be depressed about this but as it draws nearer...well... I'm just not. As a sign of how old I am we will be going out for pancakes on Sunday morning to celebrate instead of having a big party here at the house. Jon and I will also be spending the day at the ocean on Friday and on Saturday night I'll be doing a nice dinner with some friends (one of which is pregnant so I know I won't get too out of hand).

So in celebration of the countdown to my birthday... I give you the following 5 things I've love to get for my birthday.

1. Gift cards for work clothing (I like Target and Old Navy)
2. A media card for my phone so I can actually store music and pictures on it.
3. The Twilight Movie on DVD
4. A pedicure, a full set of nice nails and an eyebrow wax.
5. The third season of Ghost Whisperer or Supernatural on DVD
